ABOUT OUR PROGRAM



The Newark Pop Warner program has been in existence for over twenty years.

The program is free, there are no registration fees, equipment, uniforms and

transportation to and from all games will be provided for all Newark residents who are

participants of a Newark team.


All games are played on Sundays from 9:00 a.m. - 1:30 p.m.

We have two divisions Pee Wee & Midgets

Pee Wee ages are 9 - 11, older lighters 12

Midgets ages are 12 - 14, 15 if the participant's birthday is before or on August 1st.

Our playing fields are Untermann Field (Weequahic High)

M X Shabazz (Malcolm X Shabazz High)

Irvington (Irvington High)


Participants are required to play in the city and ward they reside in.

There are five wards in Newark the North, South, East, West and Central.

In the North ward the teams are the Cardinals - Pee Wee/Scorpions - Midgets

South Ward teams are the Golden Bears - Pee Wee/Golden Eagles - Midgets

East Ward teams are the Stallions - Pee Wee/Generals- Midgets

West Ward teams are the Vikings - Pee Wee/Hawks - Midgets

West Ward/Ivy Hill teams are the Cowboys - Pee Wee/Patriots - Midgets

Central Ward teams are the Cougars - Pee Wee/Rams - Midgets

Central Ward teams are the Titans - Pee Wee/Chargers (Titans) - Midgets

Irvington teams are Irvington Golden Knights - Pee Wee/Irvington Golden Knights - Midgets



Newark Requirements for Certification and Participation

*Birth Certificate - Proof of age

*Report Card - All four semesters (Participants must maintain at least a C grade average if not

progress reports must be provided)

*A Physical (The form must be completed and stamped by a license physician

*Completed application and waiver


***The Irvington program will also require the above requirements and a $50.00 registration fee.

Registration will be held every Saturday in June from 10:00 A.M. to 3:00 P.M at Orange Park behind Irvington High School.
